Root - Blu Life 8.0 with Android 4.4.2

This was hard to find! But finally find way to root my Blu Life 8, already upgraded to Android 4.4.2.

First thing you need to do is enable the developer mode for this, open settings, About Device consecutively hit the "build number" until it the message that the developer mode is enabled. Go back home and enter settings again and now have another option: "{} developer mode", enter it and enable USB debugging.

Now for the second step, download this APK and install it, it will certainly give you a warning that the program tries to break the security of the device (and actually will do this), but is that really what we want to do is not it? Once installed, open the app and click on the sad face with writing root, that the process will start, you will know if it worked the same face that will be happy.

Restart your device and now finally download in Play Store, Super User or SuperSU (of your choice), I prefer the SuperSU, once installed it will ask to update the binaries and then will install as root Admin, will appear in post Chinese (or something like that), don't panic, click on the right button (if ask again, click again on the right button !), and finally if a success message appears, you are all ok ! Download any app to check root to confirm, but in my, work like a charm !

Good Luck ! and Yeahh, of course ! if brick your device, if it melt, catch fire, is abducted by an alien or Justin Bieber is caught having sex with a horse, it's not my fucking problem!

Homemade notebook sata cdrom power adapter

If you have seen a CDRom for notebook SATA interface, may have been disappointed with their interface because the data connection is a common sata, but the power connection is already specified. If this frustrated his attempt to connect this drive in a standard PC, learn what you can do (adapt) a power connector sata common for a power connector for SATA CDRom.

First I will warn you when it comes to power connection, something wrong can "smoke" your drive instantly, so take with caution. I made 2 of these adapters and it worked perfectly on a desktop computer, but even so if you melt your drive, do not come blaming me then that is your problem!

First we need a common sata power connector, which can be taken from a old power supply, here is an example.

Then we pull the latches with a screwdriver to carefully remove the pins without marring. We only need 2 cables, preferably red wire to +5 v and black for negative, because these drives use only 5v.

Now comes the most important part! note that each pin actually has 3 pins, for our purpose, we use only the middle pin, then cut the pins side.

Here is the pin +5 v and pin negative already with only the middle pin.

Pay attention on the side of the pin 1 of the power cord, which is the side where he does the "L", this side will pin +5 v (Red) and next will pin negative.

Measure the size it will have the power connector and cut it so it fits into the power connector of the drive, I used a wire cutter even.

From the finish, removing burrs and adjusting the size with a stylus.

It should look like this

Its power connector is ready, he should come and go with ease in Drive, use an ordinary sata cable for data connection.

Now you can feed your drive into any output 5v (including the USB output), in my case I soldered on a molex connector, but remember to use the 5v (red cable) side, if you turn on 12v for sure will damage the drive.

Tested and approved, just connect your PC will recognize it as a regular DVD drive, both recording and reading, using in desktop power supply source, now i modify a ordinary sata to usb to feed the drive.

This is a cheap chinese sata to usb adaptor, look at the usb cable wires, have 4: GND, D-, D+, VCC, in this case i need only a GND and VCC.

I soldering a red wire on +5v and black wire on GND, and now i take a 5v from USB.

Close the plastic case and this is the final look.

Now i put all together (sata and powe cord) into a rubber ring and connect in your Drive, and now i have a usb DVD Rom drive !

I tested 2 of these drives, and one works very well, but another for other model i think need more energy, because a usb VCC cant energise a usb to sata adaptor and the drive, in this case i think he need a separated power supply to work (come with these usb to sata adaptor). The model working powerer by USB is: HP 7561S
